Conditions were perfect for us and a 9th in timed training came quite easily for the Team. When the gate dropped for Moto 1 it was a great effort and some smooth riding on the brutal course that led to a second place finish after being in 8th on Lap1 with Matt’s tenacity paying off dividends. The track got very rough and bumpy as the day wore on and some adjustments were made to the bike to accommodate the changing conditions. Moto 2 was going to be a challenge of fitness, commitment and the ability to find some lines that would result in a podium finish for Burrows. Whilst not getting the best start Matt worked his way up to 3rd place by lap 3. A little tired and trying to eek out a second here and there to get on terms with the two leaders was a big ask. Matt put his head down and charged on but couldn't make a dent in their lap times. After a heroic effort with just 2 laps remaining Matt had to settle for 3rd in the race. A great result for him and the " Rob Hooper Race Team" with a career best of 2nd overall and his first visit to the podium at a Maxxis British championship.
