Once again, Troy got close to that elusive front row grid place, but a lack of qualifying tyre in Superpole ruined his plans and so he will start from the second row. Troy used his allocation of two qualifying tyres in Superpoles 1 and 2 to make sure of getting into Superpole 3 and had to use normal race rubber in the final session instead. But Troy normally makes good starts and is not worried about getting off the line quickly - as he has proved before. Ben Spies (Yamaha) blasted his way to Superpole win number ten, with Jonathan Rea (Honda) second, Michel Fabrizio (Ducati) third and Max Biaggi (Aprilia) fourth.

Troy - 8th, 1:39.114 The front row would’ve been good - for me and the team - but what happens in the two races tomorrow is more important. I’m happy to say that the brakes are working perfectly (probably better than ever) and so thank you to the Brembo guys for sorting out last week’s problem. I’m pretty happy with the set-up we’ve got for the race and we’ll look at the telemetry tonight to see if we can iron out a few small problems and improve the bike. Our bike seems to behave a bit differently when it’s on qualifying tyres and although it moves around a bit, the grip level is up. We lost fifteen minutes this afternoon and that was a shame because we need as much track time as possible. Because we have never been here with this bike before, we suffered more than most because of this, but we just have to get on with it and do the best we can. I am looking forward to the races tomorrow and hoping that I can get a couple of really good finished.
